Doctor Thimo Marcin

Thimo Marcin, PhD, is Head of Research at the Berner Reha Zentrum and a researcher at the University of Bern, Switzerland. His work focuses on cardiovascular and pulmonary rehabilitation, exercise, physical activity, muscle health, and digital health. His research interests include digitally supported secondary prevention, telemonitoring, behaviour change, and the co-creation and implementation of digital health interventions. He is particularly interested in promoting and sustaining physical activity and exercise after rehabilitation, preserving muscle health, and developing practical, patient-centred approaches that can be integrated into routine care. As a Task Force Coordinator, he contributed to the development of the first ESC Guidelines on Cardiac Rehabilitation. His work aims to bridge evidence, guideline recommendations, and real-world clinical practice through patient-centred and implementation-focused rehabilitation research.
