Biography
Dr. Wouter L’Hoyes is a Belgian cardiologist at Imelda Hospital Bonheiden, where he serves as head of the cardiac imaging cluster across the Bonheiden-Lier Heart Center. He is specialized in valvular heart disease and advanced echocardiography, including 3D imaging, exercise stress echocardiography and structural heart interventions. He plays a leading role in the imaging-based assessment and procedural planning of (transcatheter) valve interventions, and is actively involved in heart team decision-making. Recognized as a national key opinion leader in 3D echocardiography, he regularly delivers invited talks and hands-on courses. Dr. L’Hoyes combines clinical leadership with a strong academic drive. He is an active contributor to multicenter studies in imaging and heart failure, and has co-authored over 15 peer-reviewed publications. He is a member of the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging (EACVI) and the Belgian Working Group on Non-Invasive Cardiac Imaging.
