Biography
Leonardo Schirone is a molecular medicine researcher and faculty member in Biology and Genetics at the School of Medicine of the European University of Rome, a position he has held since 2024. He earned his Master’s degree in Medical Biotechnology and completed a PhD with honors at Sapienza University of Rome. His scientific work focuses on cardiovascular pathophysiology, particularly on chemotherapy-induced cardiotoxicity, autophagy-related signaling, and translational genetics. Besides an overwhelming passion for the piano, he currently leads a research unit within a NextGenerationEU-funded project at IRCCS Neuromed and contributes to initiatives in computational genomics and personalized medicine. He is the author of over 35 peer-reviewed publications and has received awards from the American Heart Association and the Italian Society of Cardiology.
