I am a Professor of Cardiovascular Immunology at the University of Glasgow (UK), Co-Lead of the ARUA/Guild Africa-Europe CoRE in Non-Communicable Disease and Professor of Pharmacology at University of Naples Federico II (Italy). I am an elected fellow of the ESC. I serve as Vice-President (Engagement) of the British Pharmacological Society, Chair of the IUPHAR Immunopharmacology Committee, as Nucleus Member of the Atherosclerosis & Vascular Biology ESC WG, on the Executive Committee of the British Atherosclerosis Society, on the Fellowship Committee of the British Heart Foundation, as Vice-Chair of the Heart Research UK Translational Research Medical Review Panel and as Deputy Editor of Cardiovascular Research. I have a major interest in the immune response in CVD. I have authored over 120 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals including Nature Genetics, Nat Rev Immunol, Nat Rev Cardiol, Immunity, European Heart Journal, Circulation, and Circulation Research.
