Mr Dario Luis Leal de Freitas

My introduction to Cardiac Physiology began in 2010 when I completed the BSc degree in Cardiac Physiology. From my first work experience in Portugal until today, cardiac ultrasound always plays a significant role in my professional life. In 2014 I moved to the United Kingdom to work for the NHS, and my professional career changed positively in many different ways. In 2016 I gained full accreditation in adult transthoracic echocardiography by the BSE and started a new role as a Highly Specialised Cardiac Physiologist at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital with a particular interest in Congenital Heart Disease. In 2018 I completed the EACVI accreditation in echocardiography for Congenital Heart Disease and in 2021 for TOE. Since 2020 I'm registered as a Cardiac Scientist in the HCPC and started a Doctorate programme (Higher Specialist Scientist Training) in Congenital Heart Disease with the National Healthcare School & NHS England.
