Dr. Ignacio Cruz González earned his medical degree from the University of Salamanca, graduating with highest honors. He completed his doctoral thesis with the highest distinction, summa cum laude. He underwent his cardiology residency at the University Hospital of Salamanca and later continued his training at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, first as a research fellow and subsequently as an interventional cardiology fellow. He is currently a Full Professor of Medicine and Head of Interventional Cardiology at the University Hospital of Salamanca. He also served as President of the Interventional Cardiology Association of the Spanish Society of Cardiology (2021–2023). Dr. Cruz González now works as a proctor and consultant in structural heart disease for leading companies in the field. In the field of research, he has published more than 300 papers in indexed journals and he contributed to over 50 book chapters.
