Rongchong Huang earned her M.D. & Ph.D. from Dalian Medical University and Fudan University, China and received training in the field of cell biology at the Burnham Institute for Medical Research in San Diego, USA. Dr. Huang was recruited to the First Hospital Affiliated to Dalian Medical University as a full Professor of Cardiology in 2010. As a trainee and visiting scientist, she went to Mayo Clinic in 2013 and continued her clinical research on shared decision making under Prof. Victor M. Montori and Prof. Henry H. Ting. Since February 2019, she became vice director and the professor of cardiology in Beijing Friendship Hospital. Huang’s Lab is focusing on the stem cell homing mechanism and immune-inflammation induced atherosclerosis. Besides of basic research, Huang’s team is the first one to perform shared-decision making in clinical research in China. As PI, she leads the team to completed five RCTs and is going on five trials in patients with coronary artery diseases.
