Biography
I am an Associate Professor of Clinical Epidemiology with extensive experience in cohort studies, data-driven innovation, and multi-omics research, with a strong focus on cardiovascular disease in women and cardio-oncology. I co-lead major cohort studies, such as EPIC-NL, Utrecht Health Project, and UCC-CVRM. I use large cohort studies and electronic health care data to investigate the etiology, diagnosis, and prognosis of conditions like ANOCA, emphasizing the diagnostic and prognostic differences in women. I am delegated owner of the Health Data Space Utrecht (HDSU), a regional infrastructure that integrates cohort data, electronic health records, and clinical care data to enable secondary use for research. I contribute to the IMPRESS consortium and Heart4Data, and promote multidisciplinary collaboration across cardiology, data science, and healthcare to close evidence gaps and improve outcomes for women.
