Biography
Dr. André Dippenaar is an Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiologist with subspecialty expertise in Critical Care Cardiology, Mechanical Circulatory Support, and Cardiogenic Shock. He currently serves as Senior Clinical Fellow in Cardiothoracic Critical Care at Royal Papworth Hospital, following a fellowship in Advanced Heart Failure, Cardiac Transplantation and MCS at the same institution.
Pioneering in his field, he was the first practitioner in Africa to achieve ESC ACVC Level 2 certification in Acute Cardiovascular Care. He is a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology (FESC) and the American College of Cardiology (FACC), holds an MSc in Critical Care (with Merit) from the University of Edinburgh, and is ESC HFA-certified in Heart Failure. His clinical and research interests focus on cardiac transplantation, advanced heart failure with cardiogenic shock, all forms of MCS and multi organ transplant as well as multi system diseases.
