Doctor Jonathan Sen
Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute, Melbourne (Australia)
Biography
Dr. Jonathan Sen is a cardiologist and clinician-scientist practising in Brisbane, specialising in cardio-oncology after completing a fellowship at the University Health Network (Toronto). He also maintains broad expertise in general cardiology, valvular heart disease, and advanced cardiac imaging. As a current Baker Heart & Diabetes Institute Clinical Affiliate, Dr. Sen’s research aims to improve cardiovascular care by developing better tools for risk prediction and personalised treatment. He believes that insights from rigorous research should directly inform clinical practice. His path hasn't been linear. Undergraduate studies in Canada, medical training across Canberra and Melbourne, a PhD applying machine learning to cardiac risk prediction, and a year embedded with world-leading oncology teams—each step has reinforced a core belief: the best outcomes emerge when research informs practice and when specialists collaborate across traditional boundaries.
