Biography
I am Consultant Physician and Professor of Clinical Epidemiology at the Department of Clinical Epidemiology, Aarhus University & Aarhus University Hospital. I received my medical degree at Aarhus University 1998 and defended my PhD here in 2004. Currently I coordinate the metabolic disease epidemiology research program at the Department of Clinical Epidemiology at Aarhus University. I have ample experience with research project management and numerous collaboration projects with partners in the pharmaceutical industry. I am former vice president of the Danish Epidemiological Society, and advisor for the Danish Ministry of Health and Danish Medicines Agency. My research activities are primarily focused on research based on clinical databases and registries. My primary fields of interest are pharmacoepidemiology and metabolic disease epidemiology, including complications of type 2 diabetes and obesity, and I have published approximately 350 papers in peer-reviewed journals.
