Biography
Dr Louise Burrell is Professor of Medicine at the University of Melbourne, and an active clinician at Austin Hospital, Melbourne, Australia where she heads a large Internal Medicine Unit.
She is an internationally recognised researcher who has made important contributions to translational research in cardiovascular disease. She has particular expertise in the renin angiotensin system, and has made seminal contributions to our understanding of the alternative arm of the RAS with and especially angiotensin converting enzyme 2 as a biomarker of adverse outcomes.
She has an active and well-funded research program, and is committed to training the next generation of researchers in cardiovascular medicine.
