Interventional Cardiologist with focus on complex percutaneous coronary interventions and treatment of chronic total occlusions. I was trained as Cardiologist and clinical epidemiologist at the Thoraxcenter, ErasmusMC, Rotterdam and as Interventional Cardiologist at the Amphia Hospital in Breda. At the Albert Schweitzer Hospital in Dordrecht my focus of research is on optimization strategies in the treatment of coronary artery disease. My PhD thesis focussed on coronary pathophysiology: biomarkers and intracoronary imaging with intravascular ultrasound and near-infrared spectroscopy.
