Biography
Dan Blendea, MD PhD attended Iuliu Hatieganu University of Medicine and Pharmacy, graduating as a top-ranked student in 1991. He then performed a training in internal medicine and cardiology at the 5th University Hospital Cluj-Napoca Romania and Bridgeport Hospital, followed by fellowship in cardiac electrophysiology at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, where in 2010 he joined the full time staff and became instructor in medicine at Harvard Medical School. He then returned to Romania in 2018, and presently Dr. Blendea is Professor of Medicine at Iuliu Hatieganu University of Medicine and Pharmacy. Dr. Blendea's research has focused on atrial fibrillation, heart failure and syncope. He is Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology, American College of Cardiology and Heart Rhythm Society.
