Esther Pérez-David (MD, PhD, FESC) is coordinator of the Valvular Heart Disease Unit at La Paz University Hospital (Madrid), specialist in Cardiac Imaging and professor of Cardiology at the Autonoma University of Madrid. She is an active EACVI member, past President of the Working Group on CMR (Spanish Society of Cardiology) and has been co-author and national reviewer of ESC Guidelines. Her mean research interest is the characterisation of myocardial damage using imaging techniques, particularly CMR. She belongs to a multidisciplinary group of cardiologists and engineers (MAGERIT Consortium) focused on the implementation of innovative tools for cardiovascular image post-processing and myocardial dysfunction detection. She loves foreign languages after growing up in a bilingual family (Spanish/French) and finds balance in travelling and learning about other cultures, ideally with her family.
