Biography
Full Professor and Senior Staff Cardiologist in Advanced Heart Failure. Medical Director of Advanced Heart Failure and Mechanical Circulatory Support, and Director of Transplantation Center Utrecht. Board Member of Strategic Theme Regenerative Medicine at University Medical Center Utrecht, the Netherlands. Prof. van Laake has dedicated her clinical and research career to heart failure, with a strong focus on advanced heart failure. With her team, she has created a unique platform to integrate clinical care with translational research, including deep phenotyping, explanted human tissues, and patient-derived induced pluripotent stem cell models, generating both mechanistic insight and clinically relevant innovation.
