Biography
Arturo Cesaro, MD, PhD, MSc, is Assistant Professor of Cardiology at the University of Campania "Luigi Vanvitelli" (Naples and Caserta, Italy) and a cardiologist at AORN S. Anna e S. Sebastiano (Caserta), where he coordinates the Lipid Center and the Clinic for Genetic and Rare Metabolic Cardiovascular Diseases. Since 2026 he has been an Affiliated Researcher at the Cardiometabolic Unit, Karolinska Institutet (Stockholm, Sweden). His research focuses on atherosclerosis, lipid-lowering therapies, and lipoprotein(a), familial hypercholesterolemia, PCSK9 inhibitors, antithrombotic strategies in acute and chronic coronary syndromes, and the functional and intracoronary assessment of coronary disease (FFR, iFR, QFR, OCT, IVUS). A Fellow of the ESC (FESC) and of the Italian Society of Cardiology (FISC), he is sub-investigator in numerous phase III–IV clinical trials and an active reviewer for international journals. He speaks Italian, English and Spanish.
