Martin Magnusson is professor and senior consultant in cardiology. Magnusson is PI of the Heart and Brain Failure Investigation study group. Magnusson is a clinically active researcher with special interest in heart failure research, cardiovascular complications to diabetes and predictors of cardiovascular and metabolic disease, e.g. genetic variants, (common and rare), metabolomics, proteomics and targeted biomarkers. Martin Magnusson is a highly innovative and productive clinical scientists, with the majority of his over 100 peer reviewed publications in the US and European top journals, and represents one of Lund University´s future core group of young researchers, i.e. those who develop strong clinical activities relating to research of both direct clinical and but also of complex molecular, genetic and biological nature.
