Dr. Youri Bekhuis is a cardiologist in training at the University Hospital of Leuven (Belgium). He graduated as a Medical Doctor from KU Leuven in 2018. Currently, he is working as a PhD researcher at both KU Leuven and Hasselt University. The focus of his Ph.D. thesis is ‘Exercise cardiac imaging as a cornerstone of personal treatment options for patients with exertional breathlessness’ under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Guido Claessen, Prof. Piet Claus, and Prof. Véronique Cornelissen. His specific areas of interest include cardiac imaging, heart failure, and sports cardiology.
