Biography
Dr. Panayotis K. Vlachakis is an interventional cardiology fellow at the First Department of Cardiology, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Hippokration General Hospital. He is completing his PhD on permanent pacing strategies in congenital complete atrioventricular block, with a focus on conduction system pacing as an alternative to conventional right ventricular pacing. His clinical and research interests include structural heart disease, particularly transcatheter aortic valve implantation, mitral and tricuspid edge-to-edge repair, and antithrombotic treatment in coronary artery disease. Since 2026, Dr. Vlachakis has served as President of the Young Cardiologists Working Group of the Hellenic Cardiological Society, leading initiatives in education, mentoring, and international engagement for early-career cardiologists.
