Biography
Luisa Brant is an active clinical cardiologist and Adjunct Professor of Internal Medicine at Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, Brazil, with a Master and PhD in Clinical Sciences. In parallel with teaching medical and postgraduate students, she has a strong track record in research, with highly cited publications and long lasting international collaborations. Luisa’s research work is in cardiovascular epidemiology and global health, with particular interest in digital health and implementation science, and a focus on LMIC. She is a researcher at the ELSA-Brasil cohort study, the “Global Burden of Disease” Brazil Network, the Minas Gerais Telehealth Network, and an Advisor for the Global Cardiovascular Health Program at the University of Washington, US. In 2024, she received the prestigious “For Women in Science” award from the Brazilian Academy of Science, UNESCO and L’oreal, and in 2025 the Visiting Professorship award from the American Heart Association.
