Biography
Jerrold Levy is Professor of Anesthesiology, Critical Care and Surgery (Cardiothoracic), Duke University; Adjunct Professor at Blood Research Centre, University of British Columbia, and ISTH Scientific Committees Vice Chair. His MD is from University of Miami where he also was a medicine resident, then residency at Mass General Hospital, and fellowships in ICU and cardiac anesthesiology. He is on the Editorial Board for the J Thromb Haemost, EHJ: Cardiovascular Pharmacology, and J Thorac Cardiovasc Surg. His research includes anticoagulation and reversal, strategies to treat coagulopathy and acute inflammation in critically patients and ECLS, applications of recombinant and purified protein concentrates for treating bleeding and inflammation, and therapeutic approaches for anaphylaxis. He is the author of >600 publications on PubMed with over 100,000 citations, with an h-index of 112 and an i10-index of 500. He is also fluent in French and conversational in Spanish and Japanese.
