Biography
Dr Karla Santo is a cardiologist, holding a medical degree from the Rio de Janeiro State University and a PhD in Public Health (Cardiology) from the University of Sydney, Australia. Her doctoral research—conducted at The George Institute for Global Health—focused on the use of mobile technologies (mHealth) to modify lifestyle habits and improve medication adherence for cardiovascular disease prevention. She currently holds the position of Head of Decentralized Clinical Studies and Innovative Trial Models at the Academic Research Organization of Albert Einstein Israelite Hospital, while also teaching in the hospital's Postgraduate Program in Clinical Research. Her work focuses on research involving digital health and mHealth interventions for cardiovascular disease prevention, as well as decentralized clinical studies and innovative trial models utilizing real-world data and artificial intelligence.
