Biography
Dr. Ainars Rudzitis, MD, PhD, FESC, is a cardiologist at the Latvian Centre of Cardiology, Pauls Stradins Clinical University Hospital. His clinical and research expertise focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension, echocardiography, and congenital and structural heart disease in adults.
Dr. Rudzitis has a particular interest in rare cardiovascular diseases, including Fabry disease, amyloidosis, and myocarditis. He is actively involved in advanced cardiovascular imaging and interventional cardiology.
He is the author and co-author of several international publications in the fields of echocardiography, congenital heart disease, and structural heart interventions. His current research activities include percutaneous transcatheter closure of atrial septal defects, management of pulmonary hypertension, left atrial appendage closure in patients with atrial fibrillation for stroke prevention, TAVI and rare cardiac disorders.
