Biography
Professor Piepoli obtained his Diploma in Medicine in Università di Pavia in 1987 where he specialized in Cardiology in 1991. In 1996 he obtained his Degree Doctor of Philosophy in the field of Medicine, (Cardiology), Imperial College, London, UK. In 2000 the Italian Society of Cardiology awarded him the title of “Scholar”. He is the Chair of the 6th Joint Task Force responsible for the 2016 ESC Guidelines on Cardiovascular Disease Prevention in Clinical Practice. From 2012 till 2018 we hold the position of CPG member of the ESC.
He is currently Director of Clinical Cardiology Unit, Policlinico San Donato Mi IRCCS, University of Milan, Milan, Italy He is also Teaching Professor at the Fondazione Monasterio, and Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna in Pisa.
He holds the position of ESC VIce President. He is Board Member of the HFA.
Since 2017 he is Editor-in-Chief of European Journal of Preventive Cardiology (IF 8.5) and ex-officio member of the EAPC
