My name is Asst. Prof. Dr. Sirinart Kumfu. I finished a Ph.D. degree from Chiang Mai University, Thailand in March 2013, where I majored in Physiology. Now, I am a junior instructor in the Department of Physiology, Faculty of Medicine, Chiang Mai University, Thailand. I am also a member of staff in the Cardiac electrophysiology Unit, Cardiac Electrophysiology Research and Training Center (CERT), Faculty of Medicine at Chiang Mai University, Thailand. My project focuses on cardiac electrophysiology as well as basic molecular mechanisms particularly in cardiac function, mitochondrial function, mitochondrial dynamics, mitophagy and cardiac cells death in several heart diseases especially in iron overload cardiomyopathy.
Silencing of lipocalin-2 and its receptor improved cardiomyocytes viability via decreasing iron uptake, mitochondrial fission, mitophagy and apoptosis under iron overload condition
