Dr Mohammad Azharuddin Malik completed his Post Graduation (M.D.) In Medicine from the Premier All India Institute of Medical Science, New Delhi. After his MD he joined his original Alma matter from which he had graduated i.e. J.N. Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University as an Assistant Professor in Department of Medicine. He took Study leave to pursue a Career in cardiology and went back to AIIMS, New Delhi for his Post Doctoral degree in Cardiology (D.M.). It is during his post doctoral thesis on patient with rheumatic heart disease and atrial fibrillation he did the work on the role of ongoing inflammation in maintenance Afib in patients of of RHD using systemic inflammatory markers and Cardiac MRI. He also did research in other branches of cardiology like heart failure. Currently he is Professor in the Department of Cardiology, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, UP, India.
