Biography
Dr. Harrison is the Betty and Jack Bailey Professor of Medicine, Pharmacology, Molecular Physiology & Biophysics at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. Dr Harrison is an established investigator and is the Deputy Editor of the AHA journal Hypertension. He has received numerous awards including the Basic Research Science Award from the American Heart Association and the Lucian Award from McGill University. Dr. Harrison has been actively involved in Medical and Scientific Education throughout his career. He has had over 70 post-doctoral fellows train in his laboratory, and many of these have developed their own successful research careers. His research has focused on mechanisms of immune activation in cardiovascular diseases like hypertension.
