Kamilu Karaye is a Professor of Medicine at Bayero University (BUK), and Consultant Cardiologist at Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH), Kano, Nigeria.
Professor Karaye attended University of Jos (Nigeria) for his basic medical degree (BMBCh), Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine (London) for MSc Cardiology, and Umea University (Sweden) for PhD.
He is a Fellow of West African College of Physicians (FWACP), Nigerian Cardiac Society (FNCS), Royal College of Physicians of London (FRCP, London), European Society of Cardiology (FESC) and American College of Cardiology (FACC).
He is the Principal Investigator of the Peripartum Cardiomyopathy in Nigeria (PEACE) Registry and the Pattern of Morbidities, Mortality and Healthcare Financing of Hospitalised Medical Patients in Hospitals (MOHOPA) study.
His main research interests are in Peripartum Cardiomyopathy, Heart Failure, Dyslipidemia and Hypertension.
