Biography
Dr Christopher Primus is a consultant cardiologist. He primarily provides care for patients with heart failure and infective endocarditis at St Bartholomew's (SBH) and University College London Hospitals (UCLH) in central London, UK.
The nature of his role allows for a single pathway of care for heart failure patients from community practice to advanced heart failure. He sits on the North London panel to ensure cohesive care for all patients with heart failure. He co-chairs the SBH Endocarditis Team meeting, reviewing ~180 patients with Endocarditis annually, and is a member of the national Q Fever MDT. He is particularly focussed on streamlining patient pathways in this rare disease and improving outcomes as a result.
Dr Primus performs cardiac CT for the evaluation of patients with cardiovascular disease. He is a Patient Safety Investigation lead. His doctoral studies were in cardiac inflammation, relating to heart failure.
