Biography
Haitham Ballo, MD, PhD, FEACVI, is a cardiologist and postdoctoral researcher at the Heart Centre and Turku PET Centre, University of Turku and Turku University Hospital, Finland. His research focuses on advanced cardiovascular imaging, particularly PET, echocardiography, and multimodality imaging in ischemic heart disease and cardiomyopathies. His current work explores myocardial viability and functional recovery using echocardiographic strain, myocardial work indices, PET imaging, and machine-learning methods. He is a member of the Advanced Imaging in Heart Disease research group, working with Professors Antti Saraste and Juhani Knuuti. He is a Fellow of the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging (FEACVI).
