Biography
Dr. Tijskens graduated as cardiologist at the University of Antwerp in 2021 after defending his thesis with the title “Young-onset atrial fibrillation: etiology and clinical outcome of catheter ablation” (promotor. Prof. Sarkozy). He became proficient in interventional electrophysiology doing a clinical fellowship at the ZNA Heart Center in Antwerp. At the same time he achieved a postgraduate “Cardiac Electrophysiology & Pacing” at the University of Brussels. In 2023, Dr. Tijskens started as a stafmember at the AZ Rivierenland hospital while doing interventional electrophysiology procedures at the ZNA Heart Center. In addition to his clinical work Dr. Tijskens published several peer-reviewed articles in international journals and presented at international congresses. He gained the European accreditation of “Cardiac Pacing” in 2022 and is member of the Belgian Heart Rhythm Association (BeHRA) and the European Heart Rhythm Association (EHRA).
