Guiomar Mendieta MD PhD MSc FESC is currently a Clinical Cardiologist at the Department of Cardiology, Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau, Barcelona. She obtained her MD from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, Spain (2014), and completed her residency in Cardiology at Hospital Clínic Barcelona (2015–2020). She conducted translational research in cardioprotection in ischaemic heart disease, earning her PhD in Medicine from the University of Barcelona in 2020. Previous appointments include physician-scientist at CNIC in Madrid (2020-2022), Clinical Cardiologist and Cardiac Imaging fellow at Hospital Clinic and Clinical Scientist at IDIBAPS Barcelona (2023-2024). She holds an MSc in Epidemiology (LSHTM, London, 2021) and a Postgraduate Course in Heart Failure certificate (European Heart Academy, ESC-HF), Zurich, 2022. She has published over 60 peer-reviewed articles and 6 book chapters.
