Dr. Daniel E. Singer is an academic general internist at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, MA. He is a Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and a Professor in the Department of Epidemiology at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Dr. Singer is a graduate of Yale and Oxford Universities and Harvard Medical School. For nearly four decades, Dr. Singer has focused his research on optimizing stroke prevention in atrial fibrillation (AF). His studies have been based in randomized trials (e.g., the BAATAF and ROCKET-AF trials) as well as multiple sources of real-world data, including the ATRIA community AF cohorts. His current research areas include screening for AF and specifying the stroke risk posed by paroxysmal AF. Dr. Singer was awarded the 2003 John Eisenberg Award from the Society of General Internal Medicine for research achievements and the 2008 C. Miller Fisher Award from the New England Chapter of the American Heart Association for stroke research.
