Haykal is a cardiologist whose professional path reflects a progression from modest beginnings to practice in one of the busiest medical centers in the country. He was born in Banda Aceh, a region that has long been under-resourced and is widely known for the 2004 tsunami disaster. He pursued medicine with a focused interest in cardiovascular disease, drawn primarily by its clinical complexity and rapid scientific development. In 2018, he completed his training and formally qualified as a cardiologist. Since then, he has been working at Jakarta Heart Center, a high-volume national referral center for cardiovascular care in Indonesia. In addition to clinical work, Haykal has contributed to several academic publications addressing various topics in cardiovascular disease. He is currently aiming to further his training in interventional cardiology.
