Dr Aamir Hameed is a Lecturer in Department of Anatomy and Regenerative Medicine and Principal Investigator with the Tissue Engineering Research Group (TERG) and the Trinity Centre for Biomedical Engineering (TCBE). Dr Hameed received his undergraduate degree in medicine (M.B., B.S) from Karachi Medical & Dental College (KM&DC) which is affiliated with the University of Karachi. Following completion of his Internship and basic surgical training in General Surgery and Cardiothoracic Surgery from the Aga Khan University Hospital Karachi, he pursued and successfully completed his Doctorate of Medicine (MD) by research in the area of cardiovascular regenerative medicine from RCSI. His thesis focused on advanced protein/drug delivery strategies to the infarcted heart. Dr Hameed has special interest in translational research, especially medical devices research and innovation. His current role at RCSI involves both teaching and research.
