Faculty of Medicine University of Porto, Porto (Portugal)

Inês Falcão-Pires, PhD, holds the position of full professor in Cardiovascular Sciences at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto. She completed her PhD in Human Biology from the University of Porto in 2009. During this period, she engaged in collaborative work with the Department of Physiology of VUMC (Amsterdam) to clarify the mechanisms underlying diastolic dysfunction and heart failure with preserved ejection fraction in diabetic conditions. Currently, she is the principal investigator of the research group on Myocardial Reverse Remodelling at the Cardiovascular R&D Centre (UnIC), where she focuses on exploring the metabolic determinants of reverse remodelling in various cardiovascular diseases, particularly in aortic valve stenosis.
