Gonca studied medicine in Vienna, Innsbruck and Berlin (ERASMUS) from 2004 to 2010. She started her first clinical post at the Department of Internal Medicine at the University Hospital in Zurich (USZ), Switzerland, at the Outpatient Clinic for Pulmonary Hypertension. After completing her foundational years in General Internal Medicine at the Cantonal Hospital Baden, Switzerland from 2011 to 2013, she started her PhD studies in Cardiovascular Proteomics at King's College London, UK under the guidance of Prof. Manuel Mayr from 2013 to 2016. Upon completion of her PhD studies in 2017 she returned to USZ, where she completed her Training in Internal Medicine, achieving the Title of Specialist (FMH) in General Internal Medicine in 2019. Subsequently she completed her Training in Cardiology from 2018 to 2021 also at USZ, achieving the Title of Specialist (FMH) in Cardiology in 2021. She recently started her Fellowship in Cardiac Electrophysiology at Royal Papworth Hospital in Cambridge, UK.
