Dr. Keaney is the Chief of Cardiovascular Medicine at Brigham and Women's Hospital and Executive Director of the Brigham Health Heart and Vascular Center. He also serves as Associate Editor of the New England Journal of Medicine in the areas of Cardiology, Cardiac Surgery, and Vascular Surgery. Dr. Keaney's interests relate to how blood vessels resist injury from conditions such as high cholesterol, high blood pressure, and diabetes. His studies include over 230 publications that provided critical insight into why only certain patients develop heart attacks and how vascular disease can be treated and reversed. He as previously served as Associate Editor for the AHA journal Circulation and was the founding Deputy Editor for the Journal of the American Heart Association.
