Prof. Alessandro Della Corte achieved his Cardiac Surgery Specialty Degree in 2004 and PhD Degree in 2008 in Naples, Italy. He was appointed Assistant Professor in 2006 and Associate Professor in 2014. He performs cardiac surgery at the Monaldi Hospital, Naples, with particular interest in surgery of the aorta and aortic valve. Author of >200 papers in peer-review journals (h-index 44); co-author of 2018 AATS consensus guidelines for surgery of bicuspid aortic valve (BAV) and of 2021 consensus international nomenclature of BAV. He is member of the EACTS Task Force on Aortic Valve (including Repair), the Scientific Committee of the Italian Society for Cardiac Surgery and the Faculty of the EACTS Academy. He is running several research projects, particularly in the fields of BAV, aortic dissection and aortopathies in general. Participating in several collaborations with national and international research groups (including BAVCon, IAASSG and GenTAC Alliance).
