Biography
Mario Verdugo-Marchese obtained his medical degree and completed training in internal medicine in Valparaíso, Chile (2000–2011). He then specialized in cardiology at Hospital Virgen de las Nieves, Granada, Spain (2012–2017). Between 2017 and 2018, he conducted clinical and preclinical research in cardiac echocardiography at Hôpital Louis Pradel, Lyon, France. From 2018, he worked in the Cardiac Surgery Service at Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV), Switzerland, focusing on perioperative cardiology and the implementation of Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) protocols in cardiac surgery. Since October 2025, he has been working full-time in cardiovascular rehabilitation at Clinique La Lignière, managing complex cardiology and post–cardiac surgery patients.
