Dr. Floris S. van den Brink (1978) received his MD from the University of Amsterdam and received his PhD from the University of Maastricht. He completed his cardiology training at the St. Antonius Ziekenhuis in Nieuwegein. He completed a fellowship in ECMO/AICU at the Royal Brompton Hospital in London. He completed his fellowship in interventional cardiology at the Medisch Centrum Leeuwarden. Currently he works as a cardiologist/fellow adult intensive care at the Leiden University Medical Center in Leiden, the Netherlands. He has been a speaker on various congresses, domestic and abroad and has authored articles on a range of subjects. His main research focus is the use of ECMO for the treatment of cardiogenic shock, especially in the setting of percutaneous coronary interventions. In 2022 he had the great honour of becoming a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology (FESC).
