Biography
I started as a biologist working in animal physiology, psychoneuroimmunology, chemical ecology and neurophysiology. After completing my Ph.D in animal physiology about the influence of secondary plant compounds on feeding behaviour in termites, I began working as a biometrician and epidemiologist at the Federal Institute for Risk Assessment in Berlin. There I dealt with quantitative risk assessment models and did statistical consulting of other scientists.
Since May 2012 I am at the University Medicine Greifswald working as a biometrician in the Dept. of Cardiology and as Partner site manager for the DZHK - German Centre for Cardiovascular Research.
My major research interests lie in cardiovascular epidemiology, epidemiological and biostatistical/AI/ML methods and prevention of cardiovascular diseases, mainly research on non-pharmalcological interventions in heart failure and related diseases.
