Pedro A. Lemos, MD, PhD, is Head of Interventional Cardiology at Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein and Professor "Livre-Docente" at the University of Sao Paulo, in Sao Paulo, Brazil. An international-renowned expert in interventional cardiology, Dr. Lemos works actively in patient care, collaborates on multiple research initiatives, and serves in educational programs for practicing physicians, fellows, and medical students locally and around the world. He received his medical degree from the University of Brasilia and completed his general cardiology and interventional cardiology fellowship at the University of Sao Paulo. Subsequently, he completed a dedicated research fellowship in the Erasmus Medical Center – Thoraxcenter, in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, where he received his cum laude PhD, under the supervision of Prof. Patrick Serruys.
