Doctor Anders Sjoerslev Schmidt

Dr. Anders Sjørslev Schmidt completed his medical studies at Aarhus University, Denmark. He is currently Ph.D.-student at Randers Regional Hospital and Aarhus University, and a part of Professor Bo Løfgren's cardiovascular research team. Dr. Schmidt's main research methods are randomized clinical trials and biomarker studies with a focus on atrial fibrillation. His Ph.D. aims to improve the outcome of cardioverting atrial fibrillation. Dr. Schmidt is the lead investigator of three cardioversion trials (CODE-study: NCT02317029, CHESS-study: NCT02923414 and the EPIC-study: NCT03817372). The results of the CHESS-study "Maximum-fixed energy shocks for cardioverting atrial fibrillation" will be presented at ESC 2019 in Paris at the Late-Breaking Clinical Science in Atrial Fibrillation: Saturday 31 August 2019 09:00 - 10:30.
