Doctor Tania-Mihaela Nicolaescu

Tania Nicolaescu is a specialist in internal medicine (since 2016) and medical oncology (since 2023), and has been a licensed physician since 2010. She works at the Department of Oncology in Västerås, where she serves as tumor group lead for skin cancer. She is actively involved in clinical research as the research representative at her clinic, overseeing both academic and industry-sponsored studies. She is currently a doctoral candidate at Uppsala University, Department of Immunology, Genetics and Pathology, focusing on lymphoma, inflammation, and the interaction between cancer and cardiovascular disease. Tania Nicolaescu is ESC certified in cardio-oncology (since December 2025) Her clinical and research interests include acute oncology, treatment-related toxicities, and the development of structured cardio-oncology collaboration and care pathways.
