Ivo Petrov, MD, PhD, FESC, FACC is Professor of cardiology at the University of Sofia. He received his postgraduate specialty of Interventional cardioangiology from the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina (2001). He is one of the pioneers of endovascular therapy in Bulgaria (actual president of the Bulgarian society of endovascular therapy). After 2001 he introduced in Bulgaria interventional treatment of carotid stenosis, ischemic stroke, aortic dissection, aortic aneurysm, coronary rotablation, percutaneous recanalization of Lerisch syndrome, renal denervation. He served as national PI in numerous scientific clinical projects. Prof. Ivo Petrov is one of the leading specialists in endovascular treatment of complex aortic pathology and introduced for the first time in the world endovascular treatment of children with aortic dissection and was one of the first to treat by total endovascular approach patients with type A aortic dissection, and subtotal carotid stenosis.
