Associate Professor Ziad Hijazi

Dr. Ziad Hijazi is an Associate Professor of Cardiology at Uppsala University. He holds a Ph.D. in medical sciences and has extensive experience in clinical research, with emphasis on atrial fibrillation, biomarkers, clinical risk stratification, stroke prevention, and precision medicine, including registry-embedded randomized trials. He currently serves as Senior Medical Director at Thermo Fisher Scientific, providing medical oversight across cardiovascular clinical trials and scientific and strategic expertise to CVRM drug development programs. Dr. Hijazi has also been a national coordinator, steering committee member, and coordinating investigator in several large-scale cardiovascular studies, including clinical events committees, and is an editorial board member of Circulation.
