Adriana Georgescu, PhD. Habil, Biophysicist, Principal Investigator Grade I, Head of Department of Pathophysiology and Pharmacology, Miography Lab Coordinator, Institute of Cellular Biology and Pathology ‘Nicolae Simionescu’ (ICBP ‘NS’), Bucharest, Romania. My studies are focused on the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying pathophysiological and physiological processes in the cardiovascular system, to define new therapeutic approaches for atherosclerosis regression and prevention of cardiovascular disease events. The current research interests involve: microparticles as intracellular delivery strategies for microRNAs and potential therapies for atherosclerotic vascular disease; endothelial progenitor cell dysfunction and platelet-endothelial progenitor cell interplay in atherosclerotic disease. We offer an integrated approach from animal studies and cell cultures for pathophysiology and pharmacology investigations.
