Mairead Lehane is an Advanced Nurse Practitioner in Cork University Hospital / Integrated Care, she qualified as an RGN in 1994, undertook a diploma in coronary care in 1998, nurse prescribing in 2014, graduated with an MSc Research in 2018 and Advanced Practice in 2020. She is President of the Irish Association Of Heart Failure Nurses and a committee member of Irish Nurses Cardiovascular Association. She sits on the International Heart Failure Nursing & Allied Health Group, British Society Heart Failure Nurse Forum, Irish Reference Group for Integrated Care, Cardiac Advisory Group to the National Heart Programme and Severe Mental Illness & Physical Health Special Interest Group. She is a guest lecturer in University College Cork and regularly contributes to the National Institute of Preventive Cardiology. Mairead was the first nurse accepted for oral presentation by the Irish Cardiac Society in 2023 for establishing a national benchmark for time to titration of heart failure therapy.
